the concept of spider-gwen is actually a lot more interesting than “what if gwen was spider-person” because 616 gwen would jump off the bridge herself if she was spider-person
but to give gwen a more unique personality that’s similar to peter/spidey’s but all her own makes it so special, they kinda had to to give it the weight of being a spider-person, but to write one off for the other would be ignorant because both 616 and 65 are such powerhouses and so special to peter in different yet so similar ways that it would be a disservice
